Health Careers Scholarship Program

Since 1962, the Fort Hamilton Hospital Foundation has awarded more than $450,000 in scholarships through its Health Careers Scholarship Program.  The scholarships are awarded annually to area students planning a career in health care and are willing to work at Fort Hamilton Hospital.  This program is funded entirely through charitable community donations through an annual mail appeal in January of each year.  The more funds we raise, the more we can award to health career students.

Amy Pelicano, Director of Fort Hamilton Hospital Foundation, said, "This program has helped provide the resources needed to grow a new generation of health care workers in our community. Health care employees are unique and we feel a very strong commitment to supporting the education of those who choose to pursue a career in health care. It is an important and rewarding way to address the health of our community for the future."

Applications for this year's scholarship awards will be available after January 1, 2010. To be eligible, applicants must be:

  • enrolled in a health career curriculum
  • Butler County resident
  • completed application and one-page essay explaining career goals to the Fort Hamilton Hospital Foundation by April 15, 2010.

Criteria for selection is based on financial need, academic performance, and community involvement.

Anyone interested in contributing to the scholarship fund can contact the Fort Hamilton Hospital Foundation at 513-867-2697 or send donations to the Fort Hamilton Hospital Foundation, 630 Eaton Avenue, Hamilton, Ohio  45013.
